When coupled with our extensive knowledge of submersible pumps, this directly benefits our customers, as we can ensure they will get the most efficient, but still most cost effective solution.
We are the UK agent for Dreno Pumps and we maintain a large stock of their pumps at all times.
Dreno pumps are a high quality, robust, cast iron unit. Dreno pumps include full motor protection as standard, via klixon and moisture probes, to prolong the life of the pump.
ABS Pumps are unmanufactured in Ireland, Germany and Sweden, we are proud to be a premier distributor for a manufacturer of this quality and reputation. We hold large stocks on both new pumps and genuine spare parts and are able to offer advice on all their products.
All submersible pumps operate on a centrifugal basis with an impellor rotating with a volute causing water to be drain in and pumped out through the discharge connection. The Impellor is driven by a shaft which in turn is driven by a shaft which in turn is driven by a close coupled electrical motor. To prevent water entering the motor the cable taking power in is glanded & sealed. At the other end the shaft is fitted with a mechanical seal and separates from the motor by an oil chamber. All quality pumps are fitted with conductivity probes in this chamber that effectively measures the quality of the oil and cut the pump out when the seal begins to fail, preventing the motor from serious damage.
Submersible pumps generally operate in arduous conditions and can require fairly regular maintenance. It is imperative that pumps are correctly selected with the application given as much thought as the pump duty point. Pumps must also be checked for wear whilst being serviced as to Impellors will begin to wear from day one of operation and this will effect the speed at which the pump will pass flows forward.
we would strongly recommend that all pumps are installed by approved specialist to insure correct fitting and wiring. Many pumps are installed in potentially hazardous environments where fitters could be at risk of coming into contact with effluent gasses, chemical etc. and only fully trained and qualified engineers should undertake this work.
Our technical support team can assist with the design of pumping station structures, pipe work sizing, electrical requirements, lifetime running costs and any other matters relating to pumps and pumping equipment.
